North BC Dart League (NBCDL)

Purpose:
To promote darts in Northern BC
Coordination of tournament bookings to avoid overlap
Develop an organized tournament schedule with larger, better run tournaments, with better payouts and a consistent format
Promote membership of players in Darts BC
Promote tournaments to get ranked
Provide players with a venue to be ranked in Northern BC
Provide a central place for tournament information
Maintain a central location for all event history in the North
NBCDL Ranked Tournaments:
All Boards have to be an acceptable condition
NDFC rules apply
Singles format must meet Darts BC format or be pre-approved by NBCDL
$20 Fee for tournament registration – Waived for 2014
Plus
$20 deposit to NBCDL, refunded when results are submitted – Waived for 2014
Singles events pay $1 to NBCDL
Singles events are minimum $16 entry fee ($15 + $1 NBCDL)
Paperwork provided by NBCDL (unless provided by Dart BC and/or NDFC)
Payouts have to paid out based on a predetermined schedule (See appendix)
Tournaments have to submit all results, including non members. A form will be provided.
Singles events will be seeded based on applicable rankings (NDFC, then Darts BC, then NBCDL)
During knockout round in singles events, the losers would have to chalk the next match and/or record scores for averages
In the event that there is no women’s events, men’s singles would be an open singles so that women could play in them as well
Women playing in open singles would get double the points
Benefits of ranking tournaments:
Member tournaments could get discounted boards through a group buy
A web page on NBCDL website for tournament Information ( i.e. www..northbcdarts.com\mooseopen) including tournament posters, sponsorship information, tournament results, results pictures, etc)
NBCDL will provide templates and/or development help for posters, score sheets, playoff sheets and any other paperwork
NBCDL will provide help with obtaining sponsors for tournaments
Access to northbcdarts.com distribution list for tournament posters
Future:
NBCDL will provide a finals board stage setup giving the event a professional look, with room for sponsorship information
NBCDL will provide equipment for filming finals and stage matches
Finals broadcast on CityWest TV10 and/or YouTube and/or other
Scheduled (Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) email listing tournament and sponsorship information
NBCDL will provide tournament software to help with the running of tournaments
NBCDL will provide training and other resources for running tournaments
NBCDL may be able to provide software and resources for running local leagues
Membership Points:
Points awarded for players making it off the card based on the following formula:
Points = ((FS/PM ) * FSM * NC * RM) / 10
Points awarded for players not making it off the card based on:
Participation Points = (FS*RM)/10
Final Position (FP)
FS – Field Size
PM – Position Multiplier ( See Table)
FSM = FS/16
NC – Number of cards
RM – Ranking Multiplier
Participation Points – for players that didn’t get off the card

NBCDL will attempt to get tournament results from all tournaments within the NBCDL area to apply points. If the tournament is outside of NBCDL’s region, let us know and we will attempt to obtain the results from the tournament organizers. (Still working on how this will work)
Individual membership:

Draw for $50 at end of season to all registered players
Member tournaments could get discounted boards through a group buy

End of season tournament for all remaining monies, possibly with winner going to provincials
Top 2 players free entry
Sponsorship
NBCDL will attempt to get sponsors to help with the running costs, as well as capital expenses such as video equipment and stage board setup.
Growth:
Ideally, we would like to get all members playing in all tournaments to join NBCDL as well as to get all tournaments to be NBCDL ranked
Create a youth division and to promote
Dissolution
In the event that the NBCDL dissolves:
– All monies will be returned to active members
– Any monies left over after returning fees to active members will be distributed evenly to all supporting events to top up singles events
